VSHA CEU Event Policies
Did you know that VSHA is an ASHA CEU provider? VSHA professional development events can be used for ASHA CEUs or professional development hours (PDHs) for CCC maintenance and state licensing renewal.

Refund Policy
VSHA will honor cancellation requests 48 hours up to a scheduled event. Requests for cancellations should be emailed to programs@vsha.org and include the member’s name, mailing address, and phone number. Refunds will be the full amount of the registration fee minus a $10 processing fee. Refunds will be issued via check within 30 days of the request.
Intellectual Property Policy
Definition: “Intellectual property” refers to all major forms of legal protection of intangible rights protected by the law including copyright, trademark, patent, trade secrets, design rights and the like. Commitment to compliance with intellectual-property management: VSHA is committed to compliance with intellectual-property management. This commitment covers the entire range of VSHA’s input, use and output activities that involve intellectual property related materials. This compliance requires ongoing review by the board to ensure that only legitimate intellectual-property-based materials are used and distributed by this board. This commitment also extends to protect the intellectual property of VSHA in the event of misuse of materials.
Steps to deter intellectual property and copyright infringement: To deter intellectual property and copyright infringement and the sale of counterfeited and pirated products, VSHA notifies relevant customers and contacts in writing that the company maintains anti-piracy policies, practices and procedures, and that the company requires such suppliers and customers do the same. The co-operation of all potential persons who may use this company’s materials is documented in two distinct regards: 1. Materials with allowable reuse are labeled with the following statement: a. “In the event of reuse, please credit the intellectual property of the author, “Material written by VSHA” 2. Materials not allowed for reuse are labeled with the following statement: a. The following material is the intellectual property of VSHA and may not be reused without written permission from the author In the event of misuse. In the event of misuse, VSHA makes every effort to resolve the dispute cordially. The company notifies the person of interest in writing that there is a concern regarding the use of intellectual property and request a time to speak via phone to discuss the concern. a. Via phone, one of the Program Co-Chairs states the intellectual property concern and requests a specific action step from the person of interest to rectify the concern within a reasonable timeframe considered customary and appropriate within industry standards. b. If/when the requested actions steps have been taken in the timeframe requested, no additional action is required c. If the requested action steps are not taken, or the timeframe is not regarded, VSHA sends a second request via email correspondence d. If the request and/or timeframe are again disregarded, a criminal complaint and/or legal actions may be taken.

Complaint Procedure
The following procedure for handling complaints is posted on course registration pages for CEU events/offerings. It is our mission to provide current, evidence-based, and meaningful information to meet your learning needs. We seek to closely follow the learning objectives outlined in each course description. We hope you will leave each training with feeling inspired and equipped with take-away tools and ready to apply knowledge. If you are dissatisfied for any reason, please email programs@vsha.org within 15 days of the learning event and clearly express the nature of your concern. We kindly ask that you state specifically why your learning needs were not met and provide examples of how/why the course content differed from the course outline and learning objectives listed. Providing helpful and satisfactory trainings is of the utmost importance to us. If we are not able to ameliorate your dissatisfaction following your email, we would be happy to refund you for the course minus a $10 processing fee.
