Interstate compact
Last spring, members of the VSHA board, along with other VSHA members, lobbied at the State House in Montpelier for the passage of House Bill H.86 which would allow Vermont to join the Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology Interstate Compact (ASLP-IC). After making its way through several House committees and being passed by the House, the bill made its way to Senate committees. The bill was revised and then passed through both the House and Senate. In late May, the bill finally made its way to Governor Phil Scott’s desk where it was signed. The law is expected to go into effect in early 2024. To see which states have adopted the compact, visit the ASLP-IC website.
